As a competitive sailor, he has led teams to world and national titles in the International One-Design, Shields and other classes, recently winning the 2019 IOD Worlds. Carl Blackwell joined the National Marine Manufacturers Association as Chief Marketing. Officer in September, 2003. In July 2011, Carl was appointed President of Grow Boating, Inc., which produces the industry-funded Discover Boating Campaign.
Previously, Blackwell spent eight years with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association as Executive Director of Marketing where he worked on the “Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner” marketing campaign. He also has worked in various marketing and public relations capacities for General Mills, Little Caesars, Dean Foods, and Bentley Barnes and Lynn Advertising.
Carl Blackwell graduated with honors from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana with a BS in Management. He grew up in southern Indiana near Lake Monroe, where he enjoyed the water on several family and friends’ boats. He docks his boat at Diversey Harbor in Chicago.
Ricky Bodsford is a life long bass fishermen who was able to turn his passion into a career. He has the pleasure to travel on the Major League Fishing tour to report and photograph each event. Bodsford is the owner of a BASS365 and a key part to Major League Fishing.
